Swath rollers

Free Form Plastic Products has two new swath rollers.

A new feature allows the rollers to expand to 10 feet from six feet in width to match varying crop conditions.

Rollers are made of corrosion proof polyethylene, which resists denting.

The MT2000 mounted roller attaches to the rear of most four-wheeled swathers. Universal mounting hardware allows the customer to position the mounting brackets to a variety of swather models with varying axle and tire sizes. A heavy-duty spring controls the flotation and a manual cable winch raises and lowers the roller.

Two safety pins are easily installed when the MT2000 is raised for transport.

The mounted roller handles well on the headlands and does not bulldoze into existing windrows.

The roller acts as rear ballast, which is especially useful with larger, heavier swather headers.

The conventionally styled TB2000 is towed behind a self-propelled or pull-type swather.

It has a long hitch pole to avoid hitting the swather when making turns.

The hubs are greaseable and the roller height is adjustable.

There is also a floating roller mode that allows the roller to automatically adjust to different swath sizes.

A canola tour

Advanta Seeds’ website offers farmers a virtual tour of its canola demonstration plots across the Prairies.

The site is updated regularly through the growing season with photos and other information.

Each of the 24 field pages lists the grower’s name, field location, date planted, fertility information, weather and field conditions.

A map allows users to click on the region of most interest to them.

The plots include varieties such as Hyola 505RR, a high yield Roundup Ready variety and LyLite 289CL, an early maturing, high yield Clearfield variety. The website is located at www.hyola. com.
