Eliminate odors

A biodegradable, non-toxic product that attracts and permanently eliminates odors, gases and fumes is now available for use in pet stores, veterinary offices, barns, stables and other areas where the presence of animals makes odor removal a must. The Adzorbstar unit contains pellets made of a unique synthetic zeolite, a substance which occurs in nature as a volcanic mineral.

The unit, which uses no fans or mechanical devices, is able to lock in odor molecules permanently, without emitting an odor itself. Adzorbstar works unattended for up to six months, eradicating smells left by tobacco, cooking, pets, mildew and solvents, including the formaldehyde found in carpets and plastic.

High-moisture baler

Deutz-Fahr has introduced the GP 2.30 Opti-Cut round baler equipped with 14 blades to cut high-moisture forage into short lengths before it is baled. Full-length material is reduced to seven-to-10 cm before being compressed by ribbed, profiled rollers into a tight bale. More hay gets into the bale, increasing density by 20 to 25 percent while eliminating oxygen to enhance fermentation.

Depending on the crop and moisture level, a 1.2 m by 1.2 m silage bale can weigh up to 680 kilograms. Cutting blades have waxed edges for durability and are angled at 30 degrees. Each blade swings clear from obstacles and returns automatically to the cutting position.

An automatic twin-arm tying system securely wraps the bale. For more protection, an optional net wrap attachment is available. All functions are monitored through a control box mounted in the tractor cab.

Reel bat breakthrough

RigaFlex Inc. has introduced a new reel bat to be used as a replacement for metal or wood reel bats used on swathers and combines. The product is guaranteed by the manufacturer not to break. Impact tests at low temperatures (-34¡C) have left them undamaged.

Flexibility tests, that bent the bat 180 degrees back on itself, did not damage or deform the bat. The bats aren’t sensitive to ultraviolet light and are maintenance-free.

They are made of high-density polypropylene and reinforced with a fiberglass rod. They weigh less than metal reel bats and can be fitted to most swathers and combines.

Bats are available in lengths up to 10.7 m (35 ft.) and 18 cm (seven in.) widths to fit windrowers and combines or in a 11 cm (4.5-in.) width for auger headers, haybines and mower-conditioners.
