McCormick tractors
McCormick’s XTX tractor series is now available in Canada.
The tractors have six-cylinder engines and are available in three models with maximum power outputs ranging from 165 pto horsepower to 200 pto hp.
The tractors feature electronically operated hydraulic valves using seat-mounted controls and a new four-post cab design with full-length doors, new roof design and improved interior style. The new transmission features an eight-speed powershift and power range shift option resulting in a total of 32 forward and 24 reverse ratios.
A new transaxle provides more lift capacity and improved pto design. The McCormick XTX series also features a multi-disc clutch pack that can be shifted under full load so there is no loss of momentum. Advanced electronically modulated valves ensure a smooth shift from one ratio to another.

The cab can be equipped with McCormick’s active suspension, which responds to different driver weights to maintain a constant ride height. Advanced low-friction dampers coupled to a gas-oil accumulator provide controlled springing, while a Panhard rod prevents the cab from swaying as it absorbs bumps.
The system works with XTX independent front axle suspension to give drivers a comfortable ride. For information, see a McCormick dealer or visit the website at www.mccormickcanada.ca.
Mower conditioners
Kuhn Farm Machinery has expanded its line of mower conditioners. The company now has seven models designed to handle a wide range of crops and conditions.
For mid-sized farms, Kuhn’s economical trailed disc mower conditioners are available in three models – the FC243, the FC283 and the FC313. The mowers range from seven feet 10 inches up to 10 feet two inches.
Standard features include a drawbar swivel hitch designed to reduce pto chatter on sharp turns, a low-profile cutterbar, central suspension point, single point cutting height adjustment and crank adjusted suspension.
For larger farms, Kuhn’s FC303 and FC353 models are available with side or centre pivot drawbars. The two models are nine feet 10 inches and 11 feet six inches respectively.
Both conditioners feature heavier construction, as well as a standard drawbar swivel hitch, a specially designed suspension that maintains positive flotation over uneven terrain and automatic belt tensioning.
These mowers are available with a choice of conditioning systems that include free-swinging, forged steel fingers with an exclusive adjustable finger comb or roller conditioner.
Kuhn has added a pair of heavy-duty mower conditioners to its product line. The FC4000G and FC4000RG are both 13 feet one inch wide and come with standard features including the swiveling hitch and positive flotation suspension.
Both models offer increased maneuverability, left-side or right-side mowing options and increased cutting capacity of up to 10 acres per hour.
Conditioning options include a comb and free-swinging finger system on the FC4000G and a diamond-block roller on the FC4000RG.
