Disc mowers
Claas of America has introduced the Corto 240D and 280D disc mowers which along the full width of the mower. An adjustable hitch ensures the entire working width of the implement can be used even if the tractor which is pulling it is equipped with wide tires.
Disc gears are mounted on large ball bearings, gearbox housings are sealed and springs relieve ground pressure.
Both models fit Category II, three-point hitches. The 240D has six mowing discs (two knives per disc) and a working width of 2.4 metres. The 280D has seven discs for a working width of 2.8 m.

Roundup changes label
Monsanto Canada Inc. has announced a label change for Roundup herbicide that allows farmers to avoid tillage and still control annual weeds prior to seeding this spring.
Annual weeds such as wild oats, green foxtail, downey brome, giant foxtail as well as volunteer crops can be controlled with the new label of one-half litre per acre.
Mike Frank, Monsanto’s product manager for Roundup, predicted the label change will be especially welcome to farmers who are direct seeding their crops. The new label changes apply to both liquid and dry formulations of the herbicide.
