Adaptable hay rake

Claas’s new Liner 650 twin rotary rake handles swaths up to 20.5 feet.

The chassis swings into various positions with a double acting

hydraulic cylinder, allowing the operator to make one windrow or two.

Each rotor has 11 tine arms running in a sealed, permanently lubricated

gearbox.

It also has a standard tandem axle undercarriage that pivots

independently for smooth, accurate tracking. The rake swings directly

behind the tractor for a narrow transport width.

Coulter applicator

The new 8830 coulter applicator from Bourgault uses the same main frame

as the 8810 series cultivator.

The fertilizer coulter assembly featuring a long life 20-inch coulter

is the 8830’s main feature.

The assembly features the same technology as the mid-row bander with a

more robust design required in hard, dry fall conditions.

Features include a trip-out force of 500 pounds compared to 385 lb. of

the Bourgault mid-row bander.

There is a heavy-duty pivot with new composite fibre bushing for longer

life.

An adjustment for the floating scraper makes it easy to adjust the

scraper for coulter wear. The unit has low draft requirements and

minimal soil disturbance.

Ballast can be added to the heavy-duty frame to improve soil

penetration. There is a floating hitch for accurate fertilizer

placement in rolling or uneven ground conditions.

The 8830 will be available in 40, 50, 56 and 60 foot widths.

For more information, contact a Bourgault dealer, or get in touch with

Management software

Linnet has released version 2.7 of Croplands, its integrated supply

chain management software.

Developed to meet the needs of identity preserved program management

and food safety auditing, Croplands traces a product throughout the

supply chain.

It records quality information about a crop while it’s growing in the

field, at harvest, in storage, upon delivery and as the product is

blended, shipped and processed, thereby preserving its identity

throughout the supply chain.

Version 2.7 includes a web-enabled module called Fulfillment Manager,

which gives processors and suppliers the ability to manage product

logistics based on contract conditions, product availability and the

quality characteristics of each available lot.

Fulfillment Manager provides a global view of supply and demand to

assist with risk management, planning and inventory management.

The agronomic modules provide fertilizer blending and nutrient

replacement modeling, pest management, crop and soil testing, crop

planning, crop history record keeping, in-field scouting and in-season

management.
