New tractors

Massey Ferguson has two new utility tractors, the MF 271XE with 59 pto

horsepower and the MF 281XE with 69 pto hp.

They are available in two and four-wheel drive models.

The 1000 series Perkins four cylinder diesel engines have a five-inch

stroke for maximum torque at low engine rpm.

The standard eight forward and two reverse manual transmission has two

low speeds, four working speeds and two high speeds for transport.

A dual stage foot clutch controls the transmission and the live 540 PTO.

Round baler

Claas of America’s new Variant 280 round baler features the Roto Cut

option for a variety of hay baling applications.

It has an 83 inch pick up, endless belts, a soft centre control and

pivoting gauge wheels. Bale diameter can be adjusted from 36 to 72

inches with a width of 48 inches. It can use twine tie, rollatex tie or

a combination.

Seed processing software

Van Martels Seed Farms and Sunrise Software Systems have updated and

improved their seed processing software.

TagIt! Version 3.04 is designed to improve information accessibility

and application. The new version has a complete help option, larger

print and the ability to design blank seed tags.

It allows the operator to produce seed tags in the office. It is

designed for Canadian registered seed establishments and municipal seed

plants reporting to CSI and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
