A group of forage specialists has harnessed the power of information with a new website launched Dec. 2.
“We are building a website that has all the best and current information on forage and beef that we have available,” said Ken Ziegler, a forage specialist with Alberta Agriculture.
Since May of 2001, forage and beef specialists from across Western Canada have cruised through hundreds of documents on forage from around the world.
Scientific papers and fact sheets were examined and links were provided on the new website.
The links are pulled together in a catalogue, which Ziegler said should lower frustration levels when someone wants information quickly.
The website, which can be found at www.foragebeef.ca, provides three levels of information:
- “Knowledge nuggets,” which are a couple of sentences on a topic. Links are provided for further information directly to the source.
- Fact sheets with guidance to more information.
- Scientific papers.
