REGINA (Staff) – Saskatchewan has announced a $25.7 million winter tender schedule for highway construction and upgrading, $9 million higher than last year.

Major projects include continued twinning of the Yellowhead Highway between North Battleford and Saskatoon, where 23.5 kilometres will be paved between Ruddell and Fielding and 11 km will be graded between Radisson and the North Saskatchewan River.

Also included are two grading contracts to twin 17 km of Highway 11 from the junction with Highway 12 just north of Saskatoon to 1.5 km north of Warman.

The projects will be tendered between mid-November and the end of March, with work to be completed through next year’s construction season. The contracts are expected to create 900 seasonal jobs.
