Snow combining ideas wanted

The Prairie Agricultural Machinery Institute wants farmers to share

their ideas on how to harvest snow-covered canola swaths.

A large number of acres still haven’t been combined. Canola causes the

most concern because of the potential of large losses due to shattering

if left over winter.

If farmers have tried an idea or technique to combine snow-covered

canola swaths with minimum stress on man and machine, PAMI wants to

hear about it.

The combine isn’t the problem. Rather, it is separating the ice and

snow from the canola.

The institute wants to hear about all ideas, whether they worked well

or not. PAMI’s aim is to gather the ideas and make them available to

everyone.

Phone PAMI at 800-567-7264 and ask for Les Hill or Phil Leduc, fax to

306-682-5080, or e-mail pleduc@pami.ca.
