Canadian Dollar and Business Outlook: Little movement in loonie, markets

The Canadian dollar was steady on Thursday.

The loonie was at US$0.7308 or US$1=C$1.3684 as of 8:32 a.m. CDT, compared to US$0.7307 or US$1=C$1.3686 on Wednesday. The United States Dollar Index gained 0.15 of a point at 103.90.

Crude oil prices underwent a small correction after Wednesday’s increases. Brent crude oil was down US$0.13 at US$84.95 per barrel. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) declined US$0.07 at US$82.78/barrel.

The TSX/S&P Composite Index shed 8.14 points at 22,843.03.

Gold added US$6.50 per ounce at US$2,466.40.
