- More than 150,000 workers represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) went on strike Wednesday morning after failing to reach an agreement with the federal government. Numerous federal departments, including the Canada Revenue Agency, are impacted by the labour action. Wages are said to be a key sticking point.
- Fox News averted a trial and settled with Dominion Voting Systems out of court for US$787.5 million – roughly half of the US$1.6 billion sought by Dominion in its defamation case against the network. Fox still faces a US$2.7 billion lawsuit from another voting machine company, Smartmatic, over similar unproven claims of vote-rigging made during Fox’s coverage following the 2020 United States election.

- Canada’s industrial product price index was up by 0.1 per cent in March compared to the previous month, with the raw materials price index down by 1.7 per cent on the month, according to a report from Statistics Canada. Industrial products were down by 1.8 per cent annually, while the raw materials index lost 16.5 per cent.
