Swedish-based Väderstad announced it is expanding its U.S. footprint with a new multi-functional facility in Wahpeton, North Dakota, which will be ready next year.
The 60-year-old company manufactures tillage, seeding and planting equipment.
In May 2021, it acquired 100 percent of Agco-Amity JV, which markets the brand names Concord, Wil-Rich and Wishek, forming Väderstad Inc., the newest addition to the Väderstad global group of companies.
The company said in a press release it has started integrating the Concord, Wil-Rich and Wishek product lines into its seeding, tillage and planting product lines.

The expansion will provide further access to U.S. distribution outlets as well as benefit from establishment of the 120 employees, 325,000 sq. foot manufacturing facility, parts warehouse, and research and development facility in Wahpeton, N.D.
The new 44,000 sq. ft. facility, located beside the existing manufacturing site, will have office space for 80 employees, cafeteria, two dedicated training classrooms, a media theatre, and an 11,000 sq. foot exhibition hall to host dealer staff and technician training, customer clinics, and public events.
Väderstad said the expansion signals its continued investment in the U.S. market and further grow its vision “to be the world’s leading partner for an outstanding emergence.”
