New dairy drink
A new dairy food has been launched by the Dairy Producers Co-operative. YJ is a blend of yogurt and juice, the first beverage of its type in Canada.
According to the co-op, comparable yogurt/juice drinks have been successful in the U.S. The Canadian product will be marketed in 250 mL and two-litre cartons, in strawberry and orange flavors.
Two more directors
The Okanagan Valley Tree Fruit Authority has added two members to its board of directors.
Sheila Ackerman of Kelowna is an apple grower and secretary of the Rutland-Ellison local of the B.C. Fruit Growers Association.
Joan Sarell of Oliver is vice-president of the Okanagan-Similkameen Tourism Association.
The two were appointed for one-year terms by B.C. agriculture minister David Zirnhelt.
