Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was $83.62 May 28, down from $84.27 May 21.
U.S. hogs averaged $105.32 on a carcass basis May 28, down from $106.80 May 21.
The U.S. pork cutout was $126.59 per hundredweight May 28, up from $120.86 May 21.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to May 29 was 2.378 million, down from 2.393 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 1.981 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the May 29 Signature Four price was C$233.70 per 100 kilograms, up from $232.32.

The Hams Marketing cash price was $231.70, up from $230.32, HyLife was $249.54, up from $246.43, and OlyWest was $242.30, down from $242.50. OlyWest 2021 was $245.40, up from $242.50, and HyLife’s adjusted price was $255.47, up from $246.43.
Bison
Prices offered by Canadian buyers for slaughter in Canada start at $3.90-$4.15 per pound hot hanging weight for Grade A bison bulls and heifers on light trading. Canadian buyers are offering $4.60-$4.80 for prime bulls and $4.40-$4.70 for heifers for slaughter in the United States.
U.S. buyers are paying US$4 per lb. hot hanging weight for prime bulls from Canada for U.S. slaughter, where slaughter times are booked. Heifers are being purchased at $3.80. Returns to producers are dependent on exchange rates, quality, transportation and export costs.
