SaskOrganics elects directors
SaskOrganics filled three director positions last month.
Amanda Bouchard (incumbent), Thomas Driedger Enns and Ryan Neilson were each elected.
Elected officers include Wendy Wecker as president, Joel Mowchenko as vice-president, Heather Schmitt as treasurer, and Hélène Tremblay-Boyko as secretary.
Will Oddie will remain on the board in an advisory capacity (past-president) and will continue to serve on committees. Jim Robbins (treasurer) will continue to represent SaskOrganics with the Organic Federation of Canada and Garry Johnson (past-president) will continue to head up the crop insurance committee.

4-H launches learning project
4-H British Columbia has launched a new at-home learning project, which is available to all youth in the province.
4-H @ Home will support B.C. youth in applying the 4-H motto learn to do by doing as they complete hands-on activities.
This project is available at no cost to 4-H B.C. members, as well as youth who are not involved in 4-H.
Youth can register online to receive the 4-H @ Home resource package.
Participants will complete six of the 30 activities in the resource package to earn a 4-H @ Home certificate.
Veterinarian activities changed
Activities performed by accredited veterinarians under the herd/flock certification or compartment programs have been changed because of COVID-19.
- Chronic Wasting Disease Herd Certification Program: Deadline dates for herd inventory and annual report submission that fall between March 1 and June 30 will be extended until July 31.
- Scrapie Flock Certification Program: The date of the flock/herd inventory and the annual report submission deadlines that fall in the first quarter will be granted until July 31.
- Canada Health Accredited Herd Program (Enzootic bovine leucosis): For herds in which their herd inventory and annual tests are required between March 1 and June 30, the deadline for completion of these activities is extended until the end of July 2020. The herd can either keep its original inventory/test date or it can be 12 months from the date when they accomplish these activities in 2020.
