Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was $42.65 March 27, down from $43.33 on March 20.
U.S. hogs averaged $58.07 on a carcass basis March 27, up from $56.12 March 20.
The U.S. pork cutout was $73.79 per cwt. March 27, down from $80.04 March 20.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to March 28 was 2.754 million, down from 2.790 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.528 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the March 28 Signature Five price was C$161.76 per 100 kilograms, up from C$151.40 the previous week.

Bison
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range were offered prices from C$4.25-$4.60 per pound hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.15 per lb. with returns dependent on exchange rates, quality and export costs.
Grade A heifers were offered C$4-$4.40 hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$3.80 per lb.
Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 964 sheep and lambs and 97 goats sold March 23. All classes of sheep lambs and goats sold at prices $5-$10 lower.
Beaver Hill Auction in Tofield, Alta., reported that 981 sheep and 356 goats sold March 23.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $220-$255 per cwt., 55 to 69 lb. were $275-$310, 70 to 85 lb. were $270-$304, 86 to 105 lb. were $222-$285 and 106 lb. and heavier were $214-$232.
Wool rams were $110-$160 per cwt. Cull ewes were $115-$171.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $200-$250 per cwt., 55 to 69 lb. were $250-$294, 70 to 85 lb. were $245-$297, 86 to 105 lb. were $215-$258 and 106 lb. and heavier were $212-$220.
Hair rams were $120-$150 per cwt. Cull ewes were $115-$175.
