Buhler donates to drought

Correction: A story entitled “Buhler donates to drought” on page 56 of

the Aug. 22 edition should have read that John and Bonnie Buhler have

donated $200,000 to the Saskatchewan Cattle Feeders Association, the

Municipal District of Provost, Alta., and the Agriculture Producers

Association of New Brunswick.

The chief executive officer of a Winnipeg farm equipment manufacturer

has donated $200,000 to help western farmers needing hay.

He said he and his wife Bonnie made the personal donation to support

those who have supported their business over the last 35 years. Buhler

manufacturers Versatile, Farm King, Allied and Inland farm equipment.

Dry conditions across many regions of Alberta and Saskatchewan have

created severe feed shortages this year. Buhler hopes it encourages

others to donate.

“Our neighbours need help. We all must act now,” he said.

The Mennonite Central Committee and the Winnipeg Foundation will help

process the donation.
