Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was 39.57 Feb. 21. It wasn’t available Feb. 14.
U.S. hogs averaged $49.70 on a carcass basis Feb. 21, up from $49.56 Feb. 14.
The U.S. pork cutout was $65 per hundredweight Feb. 21, up from $62.75 Feb. 14.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Feb. 22 was 2.622 million, up from 2.596 million the previous week. Slaughter was 2.487 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the Feb. 22 Signature Five price was C$129.42 per 100 kilograms, down from C$130.93 the previous week.

Bison
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight are selling from C$5-$5.25 per pound hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.15 per lb. with returns dependent on exchange rates, quality and export costs.
Grade A heifers are selling for C$4.75-$5 per lb. hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$3.80 per lb.
Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 197 sheep and lambs and 18 goats sold Feb. 18. All lambs sold steady. A light run of good goats and sheep sold higher.
