Purebred show season is underway

OLDS, Alta. — The first purebred show of the season opened with the Olds Fall Classic Oct. 4-6. The show is part of the Alberta Supreme championship and many of the cattle on show here will go on to Edmonton’s Farmfair International and Canadian Western Agribition in Regina.

The class winners are:

  • Grand champion female: Trent Liebreich, Merit Cattle Co., Radville, Sask.
  • Reserve: Chad Lorenz, Lorenz Angus, Markerville, Alta.
  • Grand champion bull: Miller Wilson Angus, Bashaw, Alta.
  • Reserve: Richard Latimer, Remitall Farms, Olds, Alta.
  • Breeders herd: Raelee Erickson, Pieschel Farms, Airdrie, Alta.
  • Get of Sire: Kurt Pedersen, Pedersen Livestock, Edgerton, Alta.
  • Grand champion female: Jacey Massey, JM New Trend Cattle, Strathmore, Alta.
  • Reserve: Nelson Hirsche Purebreds.
  • Grand champion bull: Bryan Latimer Remitall West, Olds.
  • Reserve: Nelson Hirsche Purebreds.
  • Grand champion female: Tina Senetza, Goldenview Shorthorns, Smoky Lake, Alta.
  • Reserve: Dungannon Stock Farm, Westlock, Alta.
  • Grand champion bull: Dean Spady, Spady Farms, Williams Lake, B.C.
  • Reserve: Sidetrack Stock Farm, High River, Alta.
