Cowboys are invited to return to the range for a special trail ride marking Alberta’s centennial.

The five-day ride from July 17-23 next year covers a 100-kilometre loop on Canadian Forces Base Suffield in southeastern Alberta. The ride is limited to 1,200 people, who will get a chance to see unbroken prairie that has remained untouched since the province was created 100 years ago.

Riders must provide their own horses, but meals, water, showers and veterinarian services are included in the registration fee.

CFB Suffield is organizing the ride.

Trail boss Roy Clark said 250 applications have been received so far. The deadline is March 31.

All applications need to be forwarded to CFB Suffield, Box 6000, Stn. Main, Medicine Hat, Alta. T1A 8K8 or telephone 403-544-4011, ext. 5380.
