Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was US$61.69 per cwt. May 24 down from $64.05 May 17.
U.S. hogs averaged $77.97 on a carcass basis May 24, down from $81.26 May 17.
The U.S. pork cutout was $83.27 per cwt. May 24, down from $86.13 May 17.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to May 25 was 2.325 million, down from 2.371 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.290 million last year at the same time.
In Canada May 25 Signature Five price was C$200.21 per 100 kilograms, down from $200.83 the week before.

Bison
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range sold at prices from C$5.10-$5.50. per pound hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.30 or more with returns dependent on exchange rates, quality and export costs.
Grade A heifers sold up to C$4.90-$5.10 U.S. buyers are offering US$4.10.
Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported 819 sheep and lambs and 24 goats sold May 21. Light lambs and heavy lambs sold on dull demand at 30-40 lower. Sheep sold at just steady prices. Goats sold steady.
