Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was US$64.05 per hundredweight May 16, up from $61.36 May 10.
U.S. hogs averaged $81.26 on a carcass basis May 10, up from $80.80 May 10.
The U.S. pork cutout was $86.13 per cwt. May 10, down from $86.16 May 10.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to May 17 was 2.366 million, up from 2.341 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.280 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the May 18 Signature Five price was C$200.83 per 100 kilograms, up from $197.06 the previous week.

On a per hundredweight basis, the price was $91.10, down from $89.39.
Bison
Bison prices were flat this week, with strong supplies and ready buyers. The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range sold at prices from C$5.10-$5.50 per pound hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.30 or more with returns dependent on exchange rates, quality and export costs.
Grade A heifers sold up to C$4.90-$5.10. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.10.
Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 989 sheep and lambs came to market this week, down from 1,435 a week ago. Only 46 goats sold May 13. All classes sold higher. New crop lambs fell 10 to 15, while heavies were down 20. Sheep and goats were steady.
