Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was US$59.56 per hundredweight April 18, down from $57.08 April 12.
U.S. hogs averaged $77.93 on a carcass basis April 18, up from $76.37 April 12.
The U.S. pork cutout was $87.85 per cwt. April 18, up from $85.71 April 12.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to April 20 was 1.858 million, down from 1.855 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 1.845 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the April 20 Signature Five price was C$189.41 per 100 kilograms, up from $185.12 the previous week.

On a per hundredweight basis, the price was $85.9, $2 up from $83.97.
Bison
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range sold at prices from C$5.20-$5.50 per pound hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.30 or more with returns dependent on exchange rates, quality and export costs.
Grade A heifers sold up to C$5.00-$5.20. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.15.
Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 1,572 sheep and lambs and 99 goats sold April 15. New crop lambs traded $10-$20 per cwt. lower. Heavy lambs sold higher. Sheep and goats sold steady to slightly higher.
Beaver Hill Auction in Tofield, Alta., reported that 1,646 sheep and 235 goats sold March 15.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $220-$287 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $240-$287, 70-85 lb. were $240-$291, 86-105 lb. were $227-$273 and 106 lb. and heavier were $220-$235.
Wool rams were $102-$149 per cwt. Cull ewes were $95-$164.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $200-$270 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $230-$270, 70-85 lb. were $225-$275, 86-105 lb. were $225-$240 and 106 lb. and heavier were $180-$220.
Hair rams were $100-$119 per cwt. Cull ewes were $90-$135.
