Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was US$35.55 per hundredweight Feb. 15, down from $38.50 Feb. 8.
U.S. hogs averaged $48.51 on a carcass basis Feb. 15, down from $49.43 Feb. 8.
The U.S. pork cutout was $63.03 per cwt. Feb. 15, down from $64.82 Feb. 8.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Feb. 16 was 2.514 million, down from 2.516 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.389 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the Feb. 16 Signature Five price was C$127.48 per 100 kilograms, down from $129.50 the previous week.

Canadian grain, oilseed and pulse exports are off to a slow start, but there are some bright spots, according to the Canadian Grain Commission’s most recent weekly export data report.
On a per hundredweight basis, price was $57.82, down from $58.74.
Bison fall
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range sold at prices from C$5.30-$5.60 per pound hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.30 or more with returns dependent on exchange rates, quality and export costs.
Grade A heifers sold up to C$5.10-$5.30. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.15.
Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that1,032 sheep and lambs and 77 goats sold Feb 11. All classes of sheep, lambs and goats sold steady.
Beaver Hill Auction in Tofield, Alta., reported that 574 sheep and 246 goats sold Feb. 11.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $170-$225 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $225-$249, 70-85 lb. were $208-$239, 86-105 lb. were $173-$213 and 106 lb. and heavier were $162-$175.
Wool rams were $114-$121 per cwt. Cull ewes were $105-$129.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $170-$200 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $180-$225, 70-85 lb. were $180-$210, 86-105 lb. were $165-$195 and 106 lb. and heavier were $160-$173.
Hair rams were $110-$125 per cwt. Cull ewes were $100-$120.
