Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was US$47.65 per hundredweight Oct. 12, down from $49.07 Oct. 5.
U.S. hogs averaged $61.45 on a carcass basis Oct. 12, down from $63.63 Oct. 5.
The U.S. pork cutout was $80.04 per cwt. Oct. 12, up from $79.56 Oct. 5.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Oct. 13 was 2.489 million, down from 2.503 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.512 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the Oct. 13 Signature Five price was C$155.80 per 100 kilograms, up from $153.35 the previous week.

On a per hundredweight basis the price was $70.76, up from $69.56.
Bison
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range sold at prices from C$5.80-$6 per pound hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.60 or more with returns dependent on exchange rates, quality and export costs.
Grade A heifers sold up to C$5.55-$5.80. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.40.
Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 739 sheep and lambs and 91 goats sold Oct. 9. All good lambs sold stronger. Sheep sold steady with some fancy leaner types higher. Some fancy goats sold at premium prices. All others were steady.
