Canadian Financial Close: TSX takes strength from health-care

WINNIPEG, November 20 – The Canadian dollar ended
relatively unchanged against its U.S. counterpart on Monday.
On the markets, gains in telecommunications helped keep the
TSX in the black. The health-care sector was also higher as
Valeant Pharmaceuticals finished stronger.
However, losses in crude oil, natural gas and gold bullion
tempered the upside.
The Canadian dollar settled on Monday at US$0.7817 cents or
C$1.2793, compared to Friday’s North American close of
US$0.7823 or C$1.2783.
In Toronto, the S&P/TSX Composite Index inched up 5.83
points, or 0.04% to 16,004.40.
Canada’s agricultural sector performed as follows:

AGT Food and Ingredients—–up $ 0.16 at $ 20.10
Agrium Incorporated———-up $ 0.25 at $136.69
Buhler Industries————– $ 0.00 at $ 4.45
Maple Leaf Foods————-up $ 0.36 at $ 33.90
Potash Corp. of Sask———up $ 0.03 at $ 24.41
