Winnipeg, September 29 (CNS) – A delegation of chickpea millers met this week with India’s commerce minister in a bid to open up more foreign markets to them. The millers want India to allow exports of all of its chickpeas because prices are currently lower than official support levels due to rising production. Right now kabuli chickpeas are the only varieties that are allowed to be sold to other countries.
Black beans rose one cent on the Prairies, according to the latest information from the Prairie Ag Hotwire. Bids are listed at 39 cents per pound.
