SeCan and FP Genetics have a settlement with Johnston’s Grain Brokerage of Welwyn, Sask., over a plant breeders’ rights case.
The settlement relates to unauthorized advertisements and sales of the PBR protected durum varieties AC Strongfield and AC Transcend.
The parties agreed to a cash settlement as compensation for royalties and legal and investigative costs and a declaration there will be no additional unauthorized sales. Johnston’s also committed to an ongoing awareness program for employees.
