CHICAGO, March 2 (Reuters) – Private analytics firm Informa Economics on Thursday raised its estimate of Brazil’s 2016-17 soybean crop to 108 million tonnes, from 106.5 million previously, two trade sources said.
In a monthly report, the firm also raised its estimate of Brazil’s 2016-17 all-corn production to 91.0 million tonnes, from 89.0 million last month.
For Argentina, Informa put the 2016-17 wheat harvest at 17.0 million tonnes and the 2017-18 crop, which will be planted later this year, at 15.5 million tonnes.
The firm lefts its estimates of Argentina’s 2016-17 soybean and corn crops unchanged from last month at 55.0 million and 35.2 million tonnes, respectively.
Informa officials were not immediately available to comment on the figures.
