WINNIPEG, June 6 (CNS Canada) – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world feed grains markets on Monday, June 6.
– CBOT corn futures were stronger on Monday, as concerns over hot and dry Midwestern weather forecasts provided some support. The July contract was up 9 cents, at US$4.2725 per bushel.
– China auctioned off 1.8 million tonnes of corn from its reserves in an auction on Friday, June 3. A total of 3 million tonnes was offered.
– Russia has exported 32.7 million tonnes of grain as of June 1 during the crop-year-to-date, according to reports out of the country. The exports were running 12.5% ahead of the previous year’s pace.

– Romania may be sitting on a record large barley crop in 2016/17, with seeded area up about 6% on the year at the expense of wheat, according to a report from UkrAgroConsult.
– Feed barley bids in the key cattle feeding area of Lethbridge, Alberta were in the C$208 to C$213 per tonne range as of June 6; down by C$2 to C$4 from the previous week, according to provincial reports. Feed wheat prices were in the C$232 to C$235 range, which were down by as C$5 from the previous week.
