The Agricultural Institute of Canada wants to help ensure that worthwhile agriculture research results are not ignored.

Its members will gather in Ottawa this spring to find ways to spread the news about groundbreaking discoveries.

“It is nice to talk about research, but how is the research being used and how does it get disseminated to the end users?” said chief executive officer Serge Buy.

Government, scientists, commodity groups, producers and companies recently produced an agricultural research policy.

The April 13-14 conference is expected to discuss bridging the gap between research and the public and improving the flow of information from laboratories to the field.
