Canada is hosting an international livestock congress July 11 during the Calgary Stampede.

Sponsored by the International Stockmen’s Educational Foundation, the congress offers a forum to discuss beef industry issues.

Speakers are scheduled to discuss the economic future of the beef industry, consumer issues, country-of-origin labelling and animal production matters.

As well, selected university agriculture students are invited to monitor the event.

The foundation was created in 1986 to conduct and support educational events to benefit stockmen internationally.

The foundation sponsors the International Livestock Congress each year in Houston, Texas.
