New blueberry support
The low bush blueberry development program in Nova Scotia is receiving $1.09 million in federal funding over three years.
The program is intended to improve production techniques such as harvesting and pruning and expand the cultivation of wild blueberries.
The wild blueberry is the No. 1 fruit crop in acreage and export sales in Nova Scotia. It comprises more than half the value of all fruit production, which was worth $34.1 million in the province last year
