Cheese and mushrooms are the subjects of recent food recalls reported by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
Saputo is recalling Papillion brand Roquefort cheese, distributed nationally, due to potential staphylococcus contamination, the CFIA reported yesterday.
Cheese in the 100-gram size with codes up to and including a best before date of Sept. 15, 2015, should not be consumed. The same cheese and brand in half-wheel sizes with best before dates of Aug. 15, 2015, should also be thrown out or returned to point of purchase.
Some retailers may have sold cheese from the half-wheels in smaller packages, so consumers are advised to check, CFIA said.

Louis Dreyfus posts higher volumes, lower profits in first half
Agricultural commodity merchant Louis Dreyfus Company recorded a rise in first-half sales, supported by higher volumes shipped, but weaker prices for most crops pushed down profits, it said on Friday.
Common symptoms of staph poisoning are nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps and fever.
Also subject to recall are Champs and President’s Choice brand sliced mushrooms, which may be contaminated with listeria.
The Champ’s brand is distributed in British Columbia but possibly nationally, said the CFIA.
A recall was first issued June 7 and then updated June 16 with more product information.
Subject to recall are Champ’s sliced cremini mushrooms, 227 gram size, and President’s Choice sliced cremini mushrooms, 454 gram size.
The products should be thrown out or returned to point of purchase.
Symptoms of listeria poisoning include vomiting, fever, muscle aches, severe headaches and neck stiffness.
No one is reported to have become ill from either recall.
