Moisture is in short supply across the Prairies, with many regions yet to receive a significant amount of precipitation since winter.
Aside from the Canadian and American border region where rain is in the forecast, relief from dry weather is unlikely to come soon for the majority of crops in the Prairies.

The following maps from the U.S. Weather Service – Weather Prediction Center show rain forecasts in inches. Green areas range from 0.01 inch to less than 0.5 inch. This first map shows amounts that might fall Saturday, with as much as an inch in parts of Montana and North Dakota but little making it across the border into southeastern Saskatchewan and southern Manitoba.
The following map is for Sunday.
The following map is for Sunday night-Monday morning.
This final map shows the predicted accumulation from Saturday though to the end of Wednesday. Many parts of the U.S. will have received an inch or more, but little is expected in Canada.
