Manitoba MP Larry Maguire is now a member of the House of Commons agriculture committee.

Maguire served almost 14 years as a Manitoba MLA before winning a 2013 federal byelection to represent Brandon-Souris.

“I am honoured and humbled by this,” Maguire said in a statement.

“Westman’s economy is largely fueled by agricultural exports and the importance of opening new markets for our farmers and investing in further research is more important than ever.”
