Hogs steady
The U.S. cash hog market was mostly unchanged.
There was an adequate supply for packers, and processing margins remained profitable.
Lean hog futures edged higher through the week with speculators figuring PED could limit supply in coming months.
Iowa-southern Minnesota hogs delivered were US$65 per hundredweight Nov. 14, steady from $65-$66 Nov. 7.
U.S. hogs averaged $85.58 on a carcass basis Nov. 14, up slightly from $85.42 Nov. 7. The U.S. pork cutout rose to $95.93 per cwt. Nov. 14, up from $94.74 Nov. 7.

The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter for the week to Nov. 15 was 2.219 million, down from 2.232 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.346 million last year at the same time.
Bison unchanged
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range were as high as C$4.55 per pound hot hanging weight.
Grade A heifers sold up to $4.35.
Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
Lamb prices up
Beaver Hill Auction in Tofield, Alta., reported 626 sheep and 78 goats sold Nov. 10.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $160-$230 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $215-$240, 70-85 lb. were $205-$240, 86-105 lb. were $190-$216 and 106 lb. and heavier were $175-$190.
Wool rams were $51-$70 per cwt. Cull ewes were $50-$122.50.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $150-$195 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $165-$190, 70-85 lb. were $180-$200, 86-105 lb. were $170-$190 and 106 lb. and heavier were $160-$177.
Hair rams were $52-$110 per cwt. Cull ewes were $55-$95.
Feeder kids lighter than 60 lb. were $160-$190. Good kid goats lighter than 70 lb. were $195-$230.
Those heavier than 70 lb. were $195-$225 per cwt. Nannies were $65-$90 per cwt. Billies were $120-$150.
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported 882 sheep and lambs and 72 goats traded Nov. 10.
A light run of all classes of lambs, sheep and goats sold at higher prices.
