SASKATOON (Staff) — Five people will be inducted into the Saskatchewan Agricultural Hall of Fame during ceremonies Aug. 7.
The late Sophia Dixon of Unity will be recognized for her work on women’s issues in rural Saskatchewan. Ron Galloway of Estevan was selected because of his role in agricultural exhibitions and Murdock McKay of Melfort was chosen for his involvement with 4-H clubs and assistance to northern native farmers.
Roy McKenzie of Regina will be recognized for his work in irrigation for forage crops and for his role in the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists. Larry Smith of Regina was selected for his contributions to veterinary medicine.
Inductees are selected by the Saskatchewan Agricultural Hall of Fame board. This will be the 24th induction ceremony for the hall.
