Wet spring on Canadian Prairies

Even without the extreme downpours of June 20, large parts of western Alberta already had 150 to 200 percent or more of average rain in the last 30 days.

These maps from Agriculture Canada’s Drought Watch program show rainfall from May 21 to June 19.

The northern grain belt in Saskatchewan and areas along the U.S. border have also seen exceptional accumulations. Click on the maps to get larger image.
