The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts for Dec. 20 was not available. It was $63.64 Dec. 13.
U.S. hogs averaged $76.95 on a carcass basis Dec. 20, down from $79.90 Dec. 13.

The U.S. pork cutout was $97.28 per hundredweight Dec. 20, down from $95.53 Dec. 13.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Dec. 20 was 2.433 million. It was 2.410 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.359 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the Dec. 21 Signature Four price was $214.05 per 100 kilograms, up from $210.57.
The Dec. 21 Hams Marketing cash price was $212.05,while on Dec. 14 it was $208.57. HyLife was $227.56 this week and $223.84 Dec. 14. OlyWest was $213.80, up from $212.20 last week.
OlyWest 2021 was up, at $225.80, from $220.40, and HyLife’s adjusted price was $232.78 this week. On Dec. 14 it was $225.01.
Bison
The Canadian Bison Association reported domestic carcass prices of $570-$600 per cwt., hot hanging weight, for finished bulls, and $535 to $600 per cwt. for finished heifers. Prices for mature bulls were not available, but mature cows were $425-$450 per cwt.
Carcass prices for bison sold into the United States were US$440-$460 per cwt. for bulls and $425-$445 per cwt. for heifers. Prices for mature bulls and cows were not available.
All prices are subject to fluctuations in the market and dollar exchange rates.
Prices for live bison in Canada were C$3 per pound for bulls and $2.70 per lb. for heifers of good quality or better.
The mixed live animal price was not available.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 523 sheep and 1,378 lambs sold Dec. 16.
Beaver Hill Auctions at Tofield, Alta., reported that 1,359 sheep and 378 goats sold Dec. 16.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $310-$390 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $300-$360, 70-85 lb. were $300-$342, 86-105 lb. were $270-$330, and 106 lb. and heavier were $250-$305. Wool rams were $140-$245 per cwt. Cull ewes were $170-$265.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $300-$360, 55-69 lb. were $300-$340, 70-85 lb. were $290-$345, 86-105 lb. were $270-$320 and 106 lb. and heavier were $230-$295. Hair rams were $160-$240 per cwt. Cull ewes were $180-$245.
