The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts on Aug. 23 was $63.59. It was $62.89 Aug. 16.
U.S. hogs averaged $80.76 on a carcass basis Aug. 23, down from $83 Aug. 16.

The U.S. pork cutout was $99.05 per hundredweight Aug. 23, down from $98.67 Aug. 16.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Aug. 23 was 2.407 million. It was 2.389 million the previous week.

In Canada, the Aug. 23 Signature Four price was $216.50 per 100 kilograms, down from $220.98.
The Aug. 24 Hams Marketing cash price was $214.50, while on Aug. 17 it was $218.98, HyLife was not available this week. On Aug. 17 it was $233.82. OlyWest was $221.50, down from $226.70 last week.
OlyWest 2021 was down, at $234, from $238.20, and HyLife’s adjusted price was not available this week. On Aug. 17 it was $233.82.
Bison
The Canadian Bison Association reported domestic carcass prices of $515-$550 per cwt., hot hanging weight, for finished bulls and $500-$525 cwt. for finished heifers. Mature bulls were not available, while mature cows were $350-$375 per cwt.
Carcass prices for bison sold into the United States were US$425-$450 per cwt. for bulls and $410-$425 per cwt. for heifers. Mature animal prices were not available.

Prices for live bison in Canada were not available.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 318 sheep and 494 lambs sold Aug. 19.
Beaver Hill Auctions at Tofield, Alta., reported that 1,612 sheep and 482 goats sold Aug. 19
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $260-$365 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $235-$285, 70-85 lb. were $238-$275, 86-105 lb. were $220-$280, and 106 lb. and heavier were $230-$264. Wool rams were $130-$220 per cwt. Cull ewes were $110-$230.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $230-$300, 55-69 lb. were $220-$265, 70-85 lb. were $220-$265, 86-105 lb. were $225-$265 and 106 lb. and heavier were $230-$250. Hair rams were $160-$190 per cwt. Cull ewes were $145-$200.
