Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada has released slight revisions to their November supply/demand estimates, originally released on Nov. 15, 2018.

The updated tables included minor adjustments to 2017/18 disposition numbers for a number of crops to put them in line with Statistics Canada data.

Most noteworthy was an 186,000 tonne reduction in 2017/18 canola exports. The adjustment in the old crop exports saw the carryout-stocks rise for both 2017/18 and 2018/19.

The government agency now sees canola ending stocks as of July 31, 2018 at 2.506 million tonnes. That’s up from the Nov. 15 estimate of 2.391 million. For the 2018/19 crop year, the canola carryout is now forecast at 2.615 million, which compares with the earlier estimate of 2.500 million.

Nov. 21 estimates for Canadian 2018/19 (Aug/Jul) and 2017/18 major crops supply and demand. In million metric tonnes. Adjustments from Nov. 15 marked with asterisk.
