WINNIPEG, Feb. 8, 2018 – Stock markets around the world were tentative Thursday morning, in the aftermath of one of the most volatile periods on the charts ever. Asian markets showed some slight strength but European markets were weaker to start the day. The Dow Jones and the TSX were both lower shortly after Thursday’s open.
Suncor has announced it will be returning cash to its shareholders. The company announced a 12.5 per cent increase in the latest quarter, which beat most analysts’ expectations. Net earnings were also up to C$1.382 billion.
Amazon has announced it will offer delivery service at Whole Foods. The online giant bought the organic grocery chain last year. Deliveries will start today in Texas, Ohio and Virginia. There is no extra fee for the service above US$35 but users must already be members of Amazon Prime.
