KIEV (Reuters) – Most of Ukraine’s winter grain crops are in a good or satisfactory state thanks to favourable weather, analyst UkrAgroConsult said on Tuesday.
UkrAgroConsult said the share of crops in good condition totalled 48.5 percent as of end of December, while the share of crops in satisfactory state was 36.2 percent.
Ukraine completed winter grain sowing for the 2018 harvest, leaving some area unsown because of bad weather.
The final data shows the sown area totalled 6.9 million hectares, 4 percent below original expectations. The sown area includes 5.9 million hectares of wheat, 822,000 hectares of barley and 147,000 hectares of rye.
