Ukraine grain exports up 35% yr/yr – ministry

KIEV, (Reuters) – Ukraine has increased its grain exports by 35 percent to 23.8 million tonnes in the 2019/20 July-June season helped by higher wheat and corn exports, the ministry of economy and agriculture said on Wednesday.

Wheat exports rose to 13.1 million tonnes from 9 million a year earlier, the ministry said in a statement.

Ukraine is the world’s sixth largest wheat producer, just behind Canada, which produced 32 million tonnes last year.
