ICE canola futures edge down slightly after three-day gain

OTTAWA, (Reuters) – ICE canola futures edged down on Thursday after a three-day gain.

It was a reversal day on the market, a trade said, noting a lot of uncertainty remains about the impact of the U.S.-China Phase 1 trade deal. There was some selling and a little bit of export buying into the close, while spreading was normal.

March canola lost C$0.70 to $461.00 per tonne. The lowest price was C$460.00.

March-May canola spread traded 3,548 times.

Malaysian April palm oil futures rose for the fourth straight session on Thursday, buoyed by forecasts of January stockpiles falling below 2 million tonnes.

U.S. soybean futures edged up, and soyoil prices fell slightly.

Euronext May rapeseed futures also rose. (Reporting by Kelsey Johnson in Ottawa; Editing by Richard Chang)
