Crop markets drift slightly lower Wed. as U.S. harvest advances

November canola again peaked above $500 per tonne in the morning but closed Wednesday a dollar lower.

It is not know yet how the wicked winds have affected canola still unharvested in central and northern Alberta.

Otherwise, there was not much new in crop markets.

Generally favourable weather in the U.S. Midwest allowed harvest progress.

Winter wheat fell more than one percent on ample world supply and ideas that American prices are not competitive. U.S. wheat and corn exports are behind last year’s pace.

Minneapolis spring wheat held on better, dropping only a penny a bushel.
