Canada 2017 canola stocks reach record high, wheat stocks fall

OTTAWA (Reuters) – Stocks of canola at the end of 2017 hit a record high 14.1 million tonnes, while stocks of wheat and barley were smaller compared to the same date a year earlier, according to a farm survey by Statistics Canada released on Monday.

The survey of 9,064 Canadian farms was conducted from Jan 3 to 15, 2018.

NOTE: Analysts and traders surveyed by Reuters on average forecast Dec 31, 2017 crop stocks at 23.9 million tonnes of wheat, 4.6 million tonnes of durum wheat, 14.3 million tonnes of canola, 2.9 million tonnes of oats and 6.0 million tonnes of barley.
