Agribition looks for next young leaders candidate

Canadian Western Agribition has signed on as a future mentor to the Cattlemen’s Young Leaders program.

Current participant Sheldon Kyle of Kenray Ranch at Redvers, Sask., said the relationship will be mutually beneficial.

Once Agribition and a participant are matched, the participant will have a non-voting seat at the board table, he said.

“This will give the board a chance to get the viewpoints of younger people about where the show should be headed,” he said Nov. 20 at the Regina show.

In turn, the participant, who will be between 18 and 35 years old, will gain knowledge from the experience at the board table.

Applications for the 2013 program are available online and close Jan. 25. Program manager Jill Harvie said Agribition is the perfect spot to meet with young ranchers and beef industry enthusiasts.
