Farmall FPT engines trash diesel particulate filters and regeneration, retain emissions standards, efficiency
Case has upped the horsepower rating on their new lineup of Farmall A series chore tractors, eliminating the nuisance of engine regeneration. The announcement affects 95A, 105A and 115A tractors.
The new models provide the horsepower and a group of standard features designed to fit the needs of beef and dairy operations, plus specialty operations like poultry, orchards and vineyards. The tractors are powered by a four-cylinder engine suitable for a variety of implements such as a loader, round baler, auger, disc mower conditioner, disc rotary cutter and field mower.
Designed to match the capacity of the Case L575 loader, the A tractors are equipped with a powerful hydraulic power takeoff. With a rating of 120 engine horsepower, the Farmall 115A delivers 100 pto h.p., the highest available in the lineup.
The fuel-efficient technologies used across the entire Farmall family are incorporated into all three new models.
The FPT engines do not require a diesel particulate filter or regeneration. The technology is designed to increase uptime and decrease operating costs, all while meeting Tier 4 B/Final engine emissions standards.
“The fact that our tractors don’t require engine regeneration is a game changer,” said Case IH Farmall tractors marketing manager Greg Lucey.
“Producers often don’t anticipate the high costs associated with maintaining and cleaning diesel particulate filters in competitors’ models. Our advanced emissions system eliminates that worry completely.”
The new tractors are designed with more weight where it makes a difference, in powertrain components, axles and transmission. More weight enables operators to push more, pull more and lift more. In some cases, it may minimize the need for front- and rear-wheel weights. Other standard features include:
- 12×12 clutch-less power shuttle transmission for ease of operation.
- Cab models have a high-visibility roof panel allowing the operator to perform loader tasks such as stacking big bales.
- Four cab-mounted work lights provide ample lighting for night work.
- Air suspension seat provides comfortable operation.
- ISO-mounted frame minimizes vibrations and noise.
The new models are offered in cab and non-cab models, as well as a low-profile design for poultry and other specialty operations. On the low-profile model, the low-clearance tire package is ideal for specialty operations, where space and ground clearance are at a premium.
An industry-exclusive reversing engine fan helps keep poultry farm operators running all day and prevents the engine from overheating. This feature enables the operator to clean the grill with ease, with the press of a button.
